Arlington Heights

Join us for the 2012 Ride of Silence in Arlington Heights, IL. We will ride the streets of Arlington Heights to remember those how have perished or been injured while riding a bicycle. We will ride 10 miles at a slow place, silently, with respect. Please plan to arrive at 6:30PM and will leave at 7PM. We will give an oppotunity to those who wish to say a few words about the ride or their friends and loved ones who are not able to ride with us tonight. Bartlett
Meet 6:45pm, Wednesday May 16 at Spin Doctor Cyclewerks, 140 S. Hickory Ave, Bartlett IL. We will begin with a prayer for Jerry, Matt, and other cyclists who have been killed and injured in crashes.
Same route as 2011: South Bartlett Road to Stearns Road to Munger Road to West Bartlett Road to Bartlett Plaza.

Batavia

Notes: We will be riding for area cyclists who have been killed or injured in crashes, Athletes by Design Cycling Club (ABD Cycling). We'll lead this ride leaving at 7 pm ride, distance about 10-12 miles. Route around Batavia We meet at the Prairie Path Cycles Store 160 Wilson, Batavia Il. Bloomington-Normal

Notes: Gather at Daley Plaza's Eternal Flame beginning at 6pm; ride departs at 7pm. We will ride in silent procession past several area Ghost Bikes and end at Hamlin Park (corner of Wellington and Damen). A post-ride gathering will follow the ride; all riders, family and friends are invited to join us. This Ride is also listed on the Chicago Cycling Club's Ride Schedule. Crystal Lake

Time: Departs at 7:05 PM
Location: Meet at Lippold Park East Entrance at the baseball fields (on IL 176 just West of US 14).
Distance: 11 miles
Notes: This is a ride in silence for 1 hr, 12 mph – 12 miles distance. The route we planned for is Lippold Park to US 14 to Pingree to Crystal Lake Ave. to Dole Ave. and Around the lake to Lippold Park for max. visibility by the public. Registration is not required but an RSVP to eberhard@mcba-mail.org would be great if you plan to attend so that we have an idea of the size of the group. There are no support services. Please bring your own water and snacks as needed. Everybody is responsible for their own safety, please wear appropriate clothing and a helmet. Please see the Crystal Lake RoS brochure

Downers Grove

Notes: The Downers Grove ROS leaves from McCullom Park, 67th and Main Street, under the water tower. It will be approximately 12 miles. We gather at 6:30 pm and leave at 7pm; all are welcome. Info on the Downers Grove bike club calendar

Evanston

Distance: 11 miles
Notes: We will meet at 7pm at the Chandler Neuberger Center between Lincoln and Central just west of Ridge and end our ride in central Evanston at Tommy Nevin's Pub which is near the location where an infamous yellow Hummer hit a Northwestern student while on she was riding her bike a few years ago. Before we leave we will open the floor for participants to voice their experiences, their memories or their prayers. We will then slowly and silently ride the same route we have taken in past years. We will go through Evanston and Skokie and wind up at Tommy Nevin's Pub. The ride will be posted at the Evanston Bike Club website

Joliet

Notes: In Memory of Jan Briese, killed on May 26, 2005, while leading her Thursday morning Joliet Bicycle Club ride as she had for more than 12 years. Starting at the Memorial Stadium, 3000 W. Oak Park

Notes: Oak Park will be having a ROS starting at 7pm; Meet at 6:45 in Scoville Park, the Northeast corner of Lake Street and Oak Park Avenues, for 7pm departure. We will ride the streets of Oak Park, River Forest, and Forest Park in silence and make our way to Molly Malone's on Madison Street in Forest Park for the OPCC monthly meeting, arriving at about 8pm.

Peoria

Distance: 8-10 Miles on main/residential streets fully supported by Peoria Police Dept.
